Today is World Stroke Day—a day that goes beyond awareness. It’s a call to action for every individual, especially women, who make up approximately 60%* of stroke-related deaths globally.
While @bcv is committed to pioneering health advancement and enhancing stroke interventions, prevention must remain our collective priority.
Stroke doesn’t discriminate, but it disproportionately affects women. Factors like hormonal changes (pregnancy, contraceptives), heightened stress, mental load, smoking, and alcohol use all contribute to this risk. In addition, older women face a higher prevalence of hypertension and other cardiovascular conditions, making them even more vulnerable.
At Bcv, we’re dedicated to improving outcomes for those impacted by stroke. But true progress lies in prevention and awareness—understanding the risks and making conscious changes to protect our health.
This World Stroke Day, let’s remember that prevention is not just a personal choice; it’s a collective responsibility.
Let’s keep working together to support and spread the message of prevention, especially for the women in our lives. 💙 #WorldStrokeDay #StrokeAwareness #Bcv #PreventionIsKey
